A stainless-steel slope is embedded in a square fountain block made of greenish granite. Water flows down the slope in a cascade towards the north, towards the entrance to the Karl-Bröger Tunnel.
The fountain block has a square plan (400×400 cm). At its highest point, it is 130 cm high and slopes down towards the tunnel entrance to the north (70 cm).
History:
The art and fountain concept ‘Extension 97’ (at Willy-Prölß-Platz / Karl-Bröger-Tunnel in Nuremberg) was designed by the Nuremberg artist Winfried Baumann.
He won the competition for the artistic design of the area in 1997 and expanded the concept in 2019 as part of Symposion Urbanum (as ‘Extension 97/19’).
