History:
The Goose Man Fountain is one of the oldest fountains in Nuremberg.

The fountain figure most likely depicts Philip Melanchthon, who was the most important church politician of the Wittenberg Reformation alongside Martin Luther.

In 1526, he founded a Latin school in Nuremberg and gave the opening speech.

The fountain was originally located at "Gänsemarkt" and was moved to its current location after World War II.
