Depiction:
The artist creates tension through the contrasts of shell and core, openness and security, and charisma and concentration.
This tension is expressed as a water scene within the sculpture and as a dynamic interplay of form and space.

History:
Originally, the fountain—cast in bronze in 1978—was designed for the corner of Dr.-Kurt-Schumacher-Straße and Jakobstraße.

Due to a redesign of the square, the fountain had to be moved from there to its current location in 1989.
