History:
The Children’s Rights Trail brings the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child to life in the heart of Nuremberg’s City Park.
Along the path through this local recreational area, artistically designed sculptures serve as reminders of ten key children’s rights – including protection, education and participation, as well as the right to health and a healthy environment.
Water symbolises health, whilst the tortoise symbolises a healthy environment.
The Children’s Rights Trail is a living testament to the fact that Nuremberg takes children’s rights seriously and is committed to raising awareness of and implementing them.
It invites people to engage with children’s rights. All the interactive installations were created between 2005 and 2021 through collaborative processes involving children and young people, regional artists, specialist firms and various municipal departments.
