The figure of a crossbowman (snip shooter) kneels on a cylindrical column standing in a shell-shaped ribbed bowl.

The bowl is supported by a decorated sandstone pillar with two gargoyles, from which water falls into the fountain basin.

History:
The Schnepperschützenbrunnen fountain commemorates the traditional crossbow shooting competitions that took place here until the second half of the 18th century, the first of which was held in 1487 in honor of Emperor Frederick III.
